audition notice - MIDSUMMER DREAMIN' - Fountain Hills Theater - May 13 & May 16

Midsummer Dreamin’ is a joyous and funny 1970's musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ featuring top 40 hits of the era including "Crocodile Rock", "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", and "YMCA".

Audition Dates: 
Saturday, May 13th at 2pm & Tuesday, May 16th at 7pm
Callbacks: Wednesday, May 17th if needed

Production dates: June 30th - July 30th
Performances: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm,
and Sundays at 2pm

Auditioners should prepare:
- 16 to 32 bars of a song that best shows off their voice
- Bring sheet music in appropriate key. No CD’s
- Dress to move for dance audition.
- Headshot and resume if available
- List of possible rehearsal conflicts

CASTING:

Theo – The Governor. A hen-pecked meek man.
Polly – His Fiancée She is strong a domineering.
Edward - Mia’s father He is quick to anger and expects to be obeyed
Andy – A handsome young man. He is innocent, naïve and a bit of a hippie.
Denny – A handsome young man. He is very conservative and thinks himself quite a ‘catch’.
Helen – A pretty, but tall girl. She is a sweet valley girl type.
Snug – A worker. The most shy member of the group, very quiet.
Francis – A worker. He is the toughest of the group.
Tom – A worker. The bravest of the group, but is stern and quiet.
Robin – A worker. The most enthusiastic of the group, always eager to please.
Oberon – King of the Fairies. He is very sure of himself, but likes a little fun.
Titania – Queen of the Fairies. She is very regal and powerful.
Peaseblossom – A Fairy-

Phil – A Servant to the Governor The most proper, butler-like attendant
