The Arizona Young Actors' Alliance

from our friends at the Arizona Young Actors' Alliance:

The Arizona Young Actors' Alliance supports all theatres in the Arizona geared towards youth! Their goal is to be a supportive conglomerate that will improve the relations between young actors and help everyone achieve their greater goals. The idea is to knock these barriers down between youth theatres and young actors, making everyone feel at home in the community as a whole, in addition to giving young actors a voice.

Their website can be found at www.azyoungactors.blogspot.com

"Okay, yay, that all sounds nice and warm and hot-chocolate-chip-cookies-on-a-brisk-winter-day, but how?"

Currently, AYAA has a few things going on to achieve their goals.

They are interviewing prominent actors about themselves and what they think could be improved in youth theatre.

They post helpful information about colleges and why we do theatre.

They also have a program called Bedroom Sessions, where kids can send in a video of them performing in their bedroom, kitchen, or any casual environment. This can be a song, a monologue, or anything creative.

Also right now, they are running a contest to win a Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder sheet music book! Info about that contest can be found on the site.

AYAA's primary goals are:

-To create a comfortable, supportive environment for all young actors in Arizona.
-To give the youth a voice in the theatre community
-To connect young actors to new friends and opportunities
-And most importantly, to give everyone their best chance.
