AZ Musicfest is currently seeking 1–2 volunteer Assistant Stage Managers for their upcoming production of Ragtime
This is an unpaid position and a wonderful opportunity for college students who are serious about pursuing professional stage management as you'll get to work with professional actors, directors and a full orchestra.
The production will rehearse at AZ Musicfest's offices in North Scottsdale and perform at the Herberger Theater Center in April. This is a fast-paced, professional environment and an exciting short run.
WHO YOU ARE
• A college student interested in professional stage management
• Organized, detail oriented, and proactive
• Calm under pressure and comfortable working backstage
• Available for the majority of rehearsals and all tech and performance dates
• Eager to learn and ready to jump in wherever needed
WHAT YOU’LL GET OUT OF THIS EXPERIENCE
• Hands-on experience working alongside a professional stage manager
• Exposure to a professional rehearsal process, equity rules, and tech week
• Backstage experience at the Herberger Theatre Center
• Resume credit and professional mentorship
• Networking opportunities with cast, creatives, and production staff
This is a very fast run and low time-commitment. Rehearsals begin April 6, with evening rehearsals April 6–18, followed by some daytime rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and performances April 20–24. Tech week and performances include daytime and evening calls, so strong availability during that last week is essential. (We're very happy to work around pre-arranged conflicts).
If you’re interested, please email your resume along with a short note about why this opportunity interests you to rebeccadweinstein@gmail.com.
