"...a new musical that focuses on the Arizona hero, former Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor. However, O'Connor isn't the only focus in this musical, as Justice is fashioned as a way to connect the present to the past by linking an African American female judge going through her Supreme Court Senate confirmation hearing in present times to the groundbreaking work that O'Connor did as the first woman on the highest court in America, as well as the contributions of the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg. This Arizona Theatre Company production (which had its world premiere at their Tucson location last month before moving to their Phoenix venue) has a wonderful cast and spirited songs, and while it could still use some polishing it makes for a crowd-pleasing production...."   -Gil Benbrook, Talkin' Broadway (click here to read the complete review)

"...paints an insightful picture of the first two female Supreme Court justices, Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, as narrated by what playwright Lauren Gunderson sees as the first Black woman justice, a prophesy that has come true with the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson. “Justice” is receiving its world premiere by the Arizona Theatre Company.  It provides fascinating awareness not only to the political differences between the women but how they became great friends even though their variances should have kept them apart...." -Chris Curcio, Curtain Up Phoenix (click here to read the complete review)

"...This is not the first time the O'Connor-Ginsburg story has been staged (SISTERS IN LAW) but it's the best so far. Nancy Open (O'Connor), Joan Ryan (Ginsburg) and (Chanel) Bragg (fictitious black justice nominee Hon. Vera J. Douglas) give it their all in a "concert style" musical...sans dansante...now through May 22 at the Herberger Theater Center...."  - Lee Cooley, Broadway World (click here to read the complete review)
