Casting Note:
We acknowledge that many roles fall on the gender binary, but however limiting the descriptions are, we invite transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, non-binary performers to read for the roles, cisgender or otherwise, they most identify with. We encourage actors of all races/ethnicities, body types, gender, physical abilities to audition. Unless a role specifies in the script, we will keep characters open to all backgrounds. Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or if there are any accommodations we can provide

Chato’s Kitchen
Herberger Theater Center. Mid-Aug to early-Oct.
All LatinX cast. 3m 20s/30s. 1f 20s/30s. puppetry skills a plus. Some Spanish a plus.
Selena Maria Sings
Co-production with Magik Theatre in San Antonio, Texas.
Rehearses and performs in San Antonio, mid-August to early-September. Herberger Theater Center. Early-October to early-November.
All LatinX cast. 2f-20’s (1 must sing). 1f-30’s/40’s. 1m-20’s (must sing). Air fare, housing, and ground transportation provided while in San Antonio.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Herberger Theater Center. Late-Oct to late Dec.
This is a remount of this past season’s production, and some of the actors will be returning, so we do not know presently how many of the 10 actor positions are open.
Local In-School touring play, TBD
Fall 2022
Eric and Elliot
Local In-School touring play. Spring 2023.
2m 20s. 2f 30s+. 1 gender non-specific 20s/30s.
Hula Hooping Queen
Herberger Theater Center. Late-March to Late-May.
All-Black cast (one role could be LatinX) 6f. 20s-60s.
What To Prepare:
Each audition slot is 2 minutes. The actor may fill those two minutes however they choose. 1 monologue, 2 monologues, 1 song and 1 monologue. 1 song. 2 songs. The actor's choice. We will stop you at the 2 minute mark. An accompanist will be provided, as well as speaker hook-ups for recorded accompaniment.
