Auditions for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre announced for August 15 & 16

It’s A Wonderful Life the beloved American holiday classic once again comes to life on the DBFRT stage. Directed by Cheryl Schaar.

Based on the 1946 Frank Capra film, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds one fateful Christmas Eve, when a discouraged George gets a chance to find out what life would be like for everyone in Bedford Falls, if he had never been born.

Sunday, August 15th - 12pm to 4pm
Monday, August 16th - 5:30pm to 7:30pm

Callbacks:
Monday, August 16th - 8pm to 9pm

What:
Please prepare a one-minute monologue.

Bring a current headshot and resume. Bring a list of all conflicts for rehearsal; there will be no understudies, if you are not available for all performances we cannot consider you for casting in this production.



PRODUCTION INFO

Tentative Rehearsal Schedule:
Generally, rehearsals are held on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and on Saturday mornings from 9:00am to 11:30am. Rehearsals will begin October 4th.


Performance Dates:

All shows are 7pm evening and 2pm for all Saturday matinees.  
There are no performances on Sundays.

November 18 - December 30, 2021

11/18 – 11/19 – 11/20 matinee – 11/20 evening

11/26 – 11/27 matinee – 11/27 evening

12/1 – 12/2 – 12/3 – 12/4 matinee – 12/4 evening

12/8 – 12/9 - 12/10 – 12/11 matinee – 12/11 evening

12/15 – 12/16- 12/17 – 12/18 matinee – 12/18 evening

12/22 – 12/23

12/29 – 12/30

A total of 26 performances. A stipend will be paid. Please do not audition if you cannot be at every performance.


Roles Available:

George Bailey: M – 25 to 45 (needs to age 15+ years in the play)

Mary Hatch Bailey: F – 25 to 35 (from college age to mid 30’s)

Henry F. Potter: M – 50 to 75 (our villain of the piece)

Uncle Billy: M – 60 to 75 (a gentle soul)

Mr. Gower: M – 55 to 75 (town pharmacist)

Zuzu Bailey/Young Violet: F – Age 8 to 10, the youngest of the four Bailey Children

Janie Bailey/Young Mary: F – Age 10 to 13

Tommy Bailey/Young Harry Bailey: M – Age 8 to 10

Ensemble: The entire town and family. We need an ensemble of 10 to 12 actors of all ages ranging from 20 to 70 years old. All actors in the ensemble will play multiple characters.
