Glendale Community College Theatre Arts & Film Program announces General Audition Video Submission Due Date of August 13 for their Fall Productions - MURDER AT THE PROP TABLE and LOST GIRL

The award winning GCC Theatre Arts & Film Program is pleased to announce General Auditions for their 2021 Fall Theatre Productions:

Murder At The Prop Table
by Ed Bassett
directed by David Seitz

Stars of the stage and screen, Alex and Lynn are unhappily married; Alex loves Jane, but Jane is Herbert’s girlfriend; and Herbert wrote the play that Alex and Lynn are starring in with hopes of making a triumphant comeback to the stage.  Add a confused gardener and a stage manager trying to keep things in order, and you have a recipe for disaster with a dash of love, a sprinkle of loathing, a splash of suspicion, and one dead body.

CHARACTERS
JANE: The young girlfriend of the playwright.  Our props mistress.  She dreams of becoming an actress.
ALEXANDER PUDDINGTON (Reginald): A has-been stage star.  He is his own biggest fan with a history of backstage affairs.
LYNN PUDDINGTON (Miss Penny): Alexander’s wife.  Also a has-been stage star, pretentious.
STAGE MANAGER: A character.
HERBERT (Mr. Canfield): The playwright and co-star of his play being debuted.
HAL: The gardener and more.

Lost Girl
by Kimberly Belflower
directed by Lesley Tutnick-Machbitz
- Long after returning from Neverland, Wendy decides that she must find Peter in order to reclaim her kiss and move on with her life. Along the way, she meets other girls who went to Neverland and learns she is not alone. A coming-of-age exploration of first love and lasting loss, Lost Girl continues the story of J.M. Barrie’s beloved character – the girl who had to grow up.

WENDY: 18-20. A Storyteller. Might gravitate towards melancholy but she is still openhearted and hopeful, with an undercurrent of tough determination

PETER: 18-20. Always well-intentioned and so charismatic you could just die. He is not a villain. He’s just a boy.

A/B/C: 16-20. Chorus. Different versions of Wendy from her past, memories distorted through time, and other girls who went to Neverland. All of the above.

MOTHER:  40s. Tired, thoughtful and patient.
CORA:  No nonsense.
CALLIE: Romantic but self aware
KRISTA: Empathetic
NINA: Curious and Kind
SLIGHTLY: Former Lost Boy. Careful, caring and fiercely loyal
TOODLES: Former Lost Boy. Silly and sincere
NIBS: Former Lost Boy: Logical. Acerbic
CURLY: Former Lost Boy: laid-back but observant
DETECTIVE: Single minded; he is always on the edge of defeat
THERAPIST: Trying his best
DOCTOR: He is even tempered
BOY:18-25: Quiet confidence

*Please note: some roles may be doubled
