Perfect your next musical theatre audition pieces under the guidance of Brelby ensemble members, Shelby Maticic and Helen Morris.
Participants will come prepared with 32 bars of music and received focused coaching on musicality, dynamics, and performative storytelling.
Whether you're preparing for our upcoming Carrie the Musical auditions, or finetuning your piece for the next musical you have your eye set on, our team will help you prepare to dazzle the directing panel at your next audition.
Space is limited in order to ensure each student receives attention and coaching.
Shelby Maticic, Brelby's Artistic Director, has been directing and choregraphing for musical theatre for over a decade. She received her BS in Theatre Performance from NAU, and her MFA from ASU. Select directing credits include: You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors, Through the Mist (world premiere), Oh, the Humanity! (world premiere), Little Women the Musical, Ghost the Musical (AZ Premiere), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Dogfight (AZ Premiere), Heathers the Musical, Big Fish, Jasper in Deadland (AZ Premiere) and Fly by Night (AZ Premiere).
She is a zoni award winning playwright, and half of the writing team behind Brelby's Season 12 world premiere musical, Echoes.
Helen Morris, a music education student, musician, vocalist and composer, has music directed several local productions including Evil Dead the Musical, the Arizona premiere of Jasper in Deadland, and Children's Letters to God.
Original composition credits include music for the world premiere of Luna & Solis, as well as the original score & lyrics for the upcoming world premiere musical, Echoes, in 2020. Additionally, Helen is a private piano, vocals and theory instructor, a musical theatre workshop instructor for the Arizona Thespian Society, and volunteers as an Experience Gallery Guide & Educational Intern at the Musical Instrument Museum.
