Show Synopsis
Anthony Shaffer’s ultimate game of cat-and-mouse is played out in a cozy English country house owned by celebrated mystery writer, Andrew Wyke. Invited guest Milo Tindle, a young rival who shares not only Wyke's love of the game but also his wife, has come to lay claim. Revenge is devised and murders plotted as the two plan the ultimate whodunnit.
Time Period: Contemporary, 1970s
Setting: Andrew Wyke's country home in Wiltshire.

Characters
Andrew Wyke ~ 50+ years old ~ tall, well-built, fair haired ~ an immensely successful mystery writer, elegant, extremely intelligent. A seductive manipulator, fascinated with the inventions and deceptions of fiction and game-playing. a writer of detective stories.
Milo Tindle ~ 35- years old ~ slim, dark-haired, medium height ~ in the travel business. Very neatly attired from exactly parted hair to squared off handkerchief in blue mohair suit. Engaged in affair with Wyke’s wife.
NOTE: Both actors must to be able to manage a heavy line load and physical activity.
What to Prepare
Those auditioning are encouraged to memorize a one-minute serious monologue and a one-minute comic monologue and present both at the audition. Actors may also deliver the monologue(s) with a British, Irish or Cockney dialect.
Auditions will include cold readings from the script plus some directed physical movement.
Please bring ALL conflict dates to auditions. Because this show has only two actors who work with multiple props, attendance at all rehearsals is vital.
