Musical Theatre of Anthem announces auditions for The Wizard of Oz, the beloved tale in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home. All youth between the ages of 6-15 will be cast for this production. This show will be double cast (Ruby and Emerald Casts). Please see the conflict calendar on our website for details of when each cast rehearses and performs.
Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and on the way, they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. Dorothy shares the tale of her miraculous journey, celebrating the joy and healing power of home.

DETAILS: Please bring a musical theatre song (or any song they are comfortable with), 16-32 bars or one minute in length. Bring an accompaniment with CD or iPod to sing with. You may also sing acapella if needed. Have your registration materials completed prior to coming to the audition. VOCAL CALLBACK PREP WORKSHOPS
Vocal Callback Prep Workshop will be held at MTA on Monday, January 6th from 6:45-7:45 p.m. During this 60-minute session, participants will work directly with Jackie Hammond, Producing Artistic Director, on how to ace your Callback. Participants of the workshops will get to audition prior to the general audition time. Cost is just $35, and space is limited to just 18 participants per session. There is a 10% sibling discount. AUDITION PREP WORKSHOPS
Audition Preparation Workshops will be held at MTA on Thursday, January 9th, from 4:30p.m.-6p.m. and 6p.m.-7:30p.m. and Friday, January 10th, from 4:30-6p.m. During these 90-minute sessions, participants will be instructed on cold reads, acting technique, characterization and more.
