HEART DON'T FAIL US NOW!! Come join AYT on Saturday, September 14th for a limited availability 3-hour audition masterclass AND 1-hour showcase with Broadway leading lady from Anastasia and Mamma Mia, Christy Altomare!
Christy will work with participants on a 16-32 bar audition cut, which they will perform in an evening showcase alongside Christy herself! She will work one on one on audition tips, technique, and students will be able to ask her questions about the industry, performing or Christy's career during a special Q+A near the end of the workshop!! Spectator seats are available for this workshop, in order to take part without the one-on-one participation and to be a part of the Q+A!
Times for the showcase performance will be announced as soon as possible. If participating in the workshop, please have your sheet music cuts submitted NO LATER than September 1st. Please send all sheet music to boxoffice@aytaz.org or bailey@actorsyouththeatre.org. If participants need additional help on cuts before the workshop, please contact our box office to set up an appointment for a private lesson.
CHRISTY ALTOMARE just wrapped her starring role as 'Anya' in Anastasia on Broadway. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s Conservatory of Music in 2008 and soon after was cast as Wendla in the National Tour of Spring Awakening. Altomare made her off-Broadway debut in MCC Theater’s 2012 revival of Carrie, portraying ‘Sue Snell’ in the cult Stephen King thriller. A Broadway debut quickly followed as she joined the cast of the long-running hit musical Mamma Mia!, assuming the role of Sophie Sheridan in June 2012. Her big breakthrough came as she was cast to play the title role in the new stage adaptation of Anastasia, based on the much-loved 1997 animated film by Twentieth Century Fox. She received her first Drama Desk Award nomination and won a Theatre World Award for her portrayal of the legendary ‘Grand Duchess’ of Russia.
