PROOF - Estrella Mountain Community College - November 16-18, 2017

by David Auburn

Performing in November, EMCC students and faculty are collaborating to bring David Auburn’s play Proof to life.  Join them at the Estrella Mountain Community College Performing Arts Center, November 16-18 on the main stage. Admission is free to the public.

In this Pulitzer prize and Tony award winning play, issues of loss, uncertainty and relationships take center stage. The play follows Catherine as she questions her own future and mental state after the loss of her famous, brilliant , but mentally ill father, Robert. How much of her father has she inherited? His mathematical intelligence or possibly even his illness? And, how much of what she knows to be true will be believed by those around her – more specifically her sister, Claire and her father’s mentee, Hal?

Tim Butterfield (Director) and Megan Hughes Rini (Producer) are excited to share this play with the West Valley after receiving their MFAs at the New School for Drama in New York City, where they also worked professionally before relocating to the Phoenix area.

The cast includes Taylor Tunnell (Catherine), Brian Driscoll (Robert), Duncan Bruce (Hal) and Bridget Russell (Claire).

Proof will be preformed November 16 at 7pm, November 17 at 3pm & 7pm, and November 18 at 3pm and 7pm at the EMCC PAC, 3000 North Dysart Road, Avondale.

Admission is free to the public.
