Kelli James and James May Team up for a Brand New Show!

Kelli James and James May, the creative duo behind last season’s YouthWorks production of Les Miserables, return to Theater Works in Great Songs From Bomb Shows. This cabaret will bring to life incredible songs with solos, duets, and chorus numbers from musicals that didn’t make it big. James May will narrate a cast of three talented couples (Jacqui Notorio & Josh Vern, Jesse & Laura Berger and Kelli James & Tony Blosser) who will take you on a journey of forgotten favorites such as: “Meadowlark” (The Baker’s Wife), “Eve Was Weak” (Carrie), “Moon River” (Breakfast at Tiffany’s), “Our Time” (Merrily We Roll Along), “Wave the Flag” (Teddy and Alice), “I Know Him So Well” (Chess) and many more! Come enjoy the talent and tunes of some of the valley’s finest!
Kelli James has worked in the theatre for 40 years in Broadway Shows and many National tours and concerts. James has been coaching young artists for the theatre for 15 years. She is a top vocal coach and director who has co-directed Annie, Into The Woods, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at Valley Youth Theatre, Charlotte’s Web for DST and Suessical for Off Square Theatre Co. in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She has received 3 AriZoni Award Nominations for acting and directing and won an AriZoni Award for original Choreography as well as an Inspirational Award for her role as The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella.
James May (Music Director) recently returned from two years in Spain as music director for The Lion King (El Rey Leon). On Broadway, as conductor and/or associate music director, Jim conducted Teddy and Alice, Les Misérables, Sunset Boulevard. National Tours: A Chorus Line La Cage Aux, Follies. Kiss Me Kate, Man of La Mancha, Beauty and the Beast; Los Angeles companies: Les Misérables, The Lion King, White Christmas, Wicked; in Spain and Mexico: La Bella y la Bestia (Beauty and the Beast), Mamma Mia; Les Misérables at The Hollywood Bowl; Many regional theaters, including St Louis MUNY Opera, The Goodman Theater in Chicago, The 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle, and Sacramento Music Circus. James has also been a music director for Arizona Broadway Theater. He received his Bachelors and Masters of Music degrees from Northwestern University.
