Synopsis
Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy with a dark twist in the middle. Seemingly perfectly matched lovers Hero and Claudio are juxtaposed with lover/haters Beatrice and Benedick. The others hatch a plan to help their love be fully realized, but this true match is momentarily interrupted due to an evil plan to slander Hero and ruin her happy union with Claudio. Those interested in auditioning will have read the play to fully understand the complexities and turns of this famous comedy.
Character Breakdown
Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. 30-50. Charming, fun-loving, smart, sensitive, and part of a collaborative ensemble telling the story in 1940’s post World War 2 America. Singing a plus. Must handle language well and strong vocal technique. Email headshot/resume asap for consideration.
