East Valley Children’s Theatre announces their Fall I & Fall II Session of Classes 2016
Fall I Session Six Week Classes – August 29 – October 5
Monday - 6 weeks of 1 hour of class beginning August 29 - October 3 – Cost $75
Class1 – 4:30-5:30 pm– Actor’s Tool Box – Acting Basics (ages 8-13) Jeff Deglow, Instructor. A beginning acting class for youth with little or no experience. Learn the basics of performing on stage and the fundamental of acting, culminating in a sharing of what the kids learned on the final day of class
Class2 – 5:00-6:00 pm – Creative Drama (age 5-8) – Gingi Cullipher, Instructor. Beginning performance class using creative play and theatre games to teach skills. The class will culminate in a sharing of what the kids have learned on the final day of class.
Class3 - 5:30-6:30 pm – Actor’s Tool Box – Creating Believable Characters (age 8-15) – Jeff Deglow, Instructor. Participants will learn techniques in creating believable charactesr using their voice, body and gestures. Class will culminate in a short presentation on the final day of class
Tuesday - 6 weeks of 1 hour of class beginning August 30– October 4 – Cost $75
Class4 –4:45-5:45 pm – Improvisation for the Stage (age 8-13) – Aaron Blanco, Instructor. An introduction to improvisation skills and techniques, with emphasis on developing the individual’s skills, culminating in a final sharing of skills learned on the final day of class.
Class5 – 4:30-5:30 pm –Musical Theatre for Young Actors (age 5-8) Instructor- Breona Conrad. This class is a basic musical theatre class for kids who have little or no experience on stage. Build confidence through singing and movement and acting while learning skills for performing on stage. Final day of class will have a short sharing with parents.
Class6 – 6:30-7:30 pm – Become a Triple Threat (age 8-15) –Breona Conrad, Instructor. A musical theatre class that focuses on the basic acting, singing and dance elements and how to put them together successfully to create an awesome performance. The class will culminate in a short presentation on the final day of class.
Wednesday – 6 weeks of 1 hour of class beginning August 31 - October 5 – Cost $75
Class7 – 5:00-6:00 pm – Actors Toolbox – Creating Character Through Movement (ages 8-14) Instructor Dustin Loehr The actor uses his entire body when performing. This class explores how to use your body to create characters, emotions and imaginative stage pictures.
Class8 – 6:00-7:00 pm – Actors Toolbox – Theatre Games That Teach Acting Skills (ages 8-14) Instructor Dustin Loehr. Using Theatre Games to teach acting skills, such as: characterization, emotions, diction, movement and thinking on your feet.
Fall I Session Eight Week Classes – September 1 – October 27
Thursday – 8 weeks of classes that meet for 1 hour a week beginning September 1-October 27
(No class on Thursday October 13) – Cost $120
Class9 – 4:30-5:30 pm –Theatre Performance for the Young Actor – Three Billy Goats Gruff (age 5-8) Instructor Gingi Cullipher. Learn the skills of putting on a play, characters, projection, team work, all the necessary techniques you need to put on a show. Class will culminate in a performance of a short play on the final day of class.
Thursday – 8 weeks of classes that meet for 1 ½ hours a week beginning September 1– October 27 (No class on Thursday October 13) Cost $140
Class10 – 5:30-7:00 pm – Musical Theatre Performance – The Little Mermaid (age 8-15) Gingi Cullipher Instructor. Learn basic musical theatre performance skills with preparing for a musical show, culminating in a performance on the final day of class.

Fall I Session Twelve Week Classes – August 30 – November 29
Tuesday – 12 weeks of classes that meet for 1 hour beginning August 30 -November 29
(no class October 11th) – Cost $175
Class11 – 5:30-6:30 pm – Junior Musical Theatre Troupe (age 7-11) Instructor Briona Conrad. A musical theatre performance troupe. For kids interested in being in a singing and dancing troupe, participants will learn songs and dances and scenes that will be put together and performed as a part of the EVCT Fall Troupe Showcase on December 6th. Space is limited.

Fall II Session Six Week Classes – October 17 – November 23
Monday - 6 weeks of 1 hour of class beginning October 17 – November 21 – Cost $75
Class12 – 4:30-5:30 pm – Acting in Film and Commercials (ages 7-13) Jeff Deglow Instructor. Learn the basics of acting on camera in both film and commercials as well as the ins and outs of the business.
Class13– 4:45- 5:45 pm – Look Mom, I’m On Stage (age 5-8) – Gingi Cullipher Instructor. Beginning acting class for young performers, teaches basics skills and an introduction to performance. Participants will act out familiar stories. The class will culminate in a short performance on the final day of class.
Class14- 5:45-6:45 pm – Actor’s Tool Box –Acting and Reacting (age 8-14) – Jeff Deglow Instructor. This class will utilize scenes from plays to work on acting and reacting, a basic skill to become a successful actor and will culminate in a short presentation on the final day of class.
Tuesday - 6 weeks of 1 hour of class beginning October 18-November 22 – Cost $75
Class15 – 4:30-5:30 pm – More Musical Theatre for the Young Actors (age 5-8) Instructor Briona Conrad. This class is a continuation of basic musical theatre class for kids, anyone can take the class who has little or no experience on stage. Build confidence through singing and movement and acting while learning skills for performing on stage. Final day of class will have a short performance.
Class16 – 4:45-5:45 pm – Hand to Hand Stage Combat (ages 10-16) Instructor Aaron Blanco. Learn basic stage combat moves safely such as slaps, punches, kicks, falls and rolls.
Class17 – 6:30-7:30 pm – Singing While Dancing (ages 8-15) Instructor Briona Conrad. Learn the most basic of musical theatre skills to create a believable performance, Incorporating acting skills into songs to make performance come alive when Singing While Dancing. Culminates in a short performance on the final day of class.
Wednesday – 6 weeks of 1 hour of class beginning October 19 –November 23– Cost $75
Class18 – 5:00-6:00 pm – Actors Toolbox – Comic Acting (ages 8-14) Instructor Dustin Loehr This class explores a variety of comic acting styles from slap stick to farce while helping kids learn techniques for comic acting. The class culminates in a short presentation on the final day of class.
Class19 – 6:00-7:00 pm – Actors Toolbox – Voice and Diction (ages 8-14) Instructor Dustin Loehr. Learn skills in using your voice to be heard, understood, creating characters, feeling and emotions. A
must have skill for any young actor. A brief sharing will occur on the final day of class.

Classes cost:
$75 for the six weeks of instruction (one hour each week)
$135 for two six week classes (one hour each week), taken by one child
$135 for one six week class (one hour each week), taken by two siblings
$140 for the eight weeks of instruction (1 ½ per week)
$120 for eight weeks of instruction (1 hour a week)
$175 for thirteen weeks of instruction (1 hour a week)
Multi-class and sibling discounts may be applied to both Fall Session I & II classes.
