EL CHE - Phoenix Center for the Arts - August 26 - 28, 2016
El Che, an original play written by Marcelino Quiñonez, a professional actor and ASU alumni, and produced by Benny Morel, is an intimate portrayal of Cuba Revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara as he struggles and manages daily relationships with lovers, friends and foes.
Inspired by the life of the Argentine born Che, who became the Cuban Revolutionary, the play demystifies the iconic figure and presents the human to the world. “El Che” focuses on Che the friend, the husband, the revolutionary, and the father. Audience members will be able to understand how a medical doctor, turned Cuban Revolutionary has become the ultimate symbol of rebellion.
The play will be directed by Matthew Wiener, former Producing Artistic Director of Actors Theater of Phoenix.
