Welcome to Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story, every camel has a tail, and a street rat can become a prince! Come and be a part of a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides, all of your favorite characters from the hit Disney film, and an ensemble of townspeople, shop owners, harem girls, princes, and more!
Character Breakdown
Aladdin – Funny, slick prankster and street rat who becomes a prince
Genie (M/F) – Fast-talking, scene-stealing funny man, tries to make Aladdin’s wishes come true.
Jasmine – Feisty, rebellious, sweet, and somewhat naïve, a future leader with strong opinions
Iago (M/F) – Sarcastic and wise-cracking parrot, Jafar’s sidekick.
Jafar – Court Vizier, a villain.
Sultan – Jasmine’s father, a bit scattered, but loves and cares for his daughter.
Narrators (M/F) – Responsible for setting scenes and advancing the plot.
Razoul – Captain of the Guard, always making mistakes.
Guards (M/F) – Under Razoul’s command, also always making mistakes.
Ensemble (M/F) – Townspeople, Shop Owners, a Baker, a Matron, Harem Girls, Visiting Princes, etc. featured in all production numbers.
Magic Carpet (M/F) – Aladdin’s feisty companion! Miming skills a must!
What To Prepare
Auditioners should prepare:
– 1-2 minute monologue
– 16 bars (not to exceed 1 minute) of an upbeat song
(Bring sheet music. Edited karaoke tracks allowed for this audition. Must be in proper key and qued to desired start.)
– a headshot or school photo, and resume if available
– a list of all possible rehearsal conflicts
– Dress to move, NO short skirts or flip-flops
