Job openings at Christian Youth Theatre

From our friends at CYT:

CYT is casting supporting roles!

     Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is beginning it's 8th season of shows and 10th season of classes in the greater Phoenix area!   And as we have grown, we have some VERY important roles to fill.  Classes and shows don't just happen without planning and support from behind the scenes.  

Please take a look at our openings below and see if you, or someone you know, might fill one of these important roles.  We need your skills to continue  "developing character one stage at a time..."


Business Manager and/or Bookkeeper
Yes, unfortunately our beloved Kathy is needing to step out of this role, and we are looking for how to fill her big shoes! This job helps manage the business side of CYT, including contracts, licenses, insurance, and financials.  It does help to have some experience in related areas, but is definitely something that we can teach the right person.  The role could be filled by 2 people - one to just do the books and the other to help manage and lead in the other areas.  Most of the work can be done from home.
Requirements: Business background a plus, Quickbooks a plus. Good communication and faithfulness to CYT model required. Self motivated for independent work. Generally one meeting per week.
Pay: Salary or stipend, Free classes for students each session!

Area Coordinator -

This important job in the CYT structure is a great opportunity for part-time and mostly at home work that provides the important communication link between CYT and the families it serves.  The AC assists the directors and staff in providing all the paperwork, schedule information, guide-lines, and communications to our families regarding our shows and sometimes our classes.  A great opportunity for a good organizer and communicator!  Or someone who has the potential and desire to develop those skills.
Requirements: Good com-munication, followup thru emails, etc, ability to organize, and faithful participation in CYT. Generally one meeting per week required. 
Pay: stipend per session and Free classes for your students each session!

Teaching Artists  -

CYT has always had the best teachers!  Currently seeking teaching artists for the upcoming season of classes- 
Requirements: Solid training (degree preferred) and experience in performing arts disciplines of voice, dance, acting, stage combat, improv, tech, etc. for afterschool classes.  A love for young people and a passion for providing them with rich and meaningful experiences through the arts.
Pay: hourly, competitive, and commensurate with experience.

Artistic Teams - 

Our 3 shows of the season will be announced in about a week as we expect to receive licenses to advertise their titles.  So we need professionals to help put them up!  Seeking potential directors, music directors and choreographers. 
Requirements: significant experience required, along with a passion for and understanding of the mission and structure of CYT.
Pay: stipend
Length of commitment: about 9 weeks.

Board Members
CYT is always looking for potential Board members to help oversee our NonProfit.  Particularly needed currently are Board members that can provide oversight by their expertise in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Fundraising, or  NonProfit Management.  We are always particularly seeking highly experienced and diversified professionals who do not have students directly involved in CYT activities to help provide balanced, experienced leadership. Once a month meetings.
