Patti LuPone - Scottsdale Center For The Performing Arts - November 2, 2019

Actress, singer, author, and all-around entertainer Patti LuPone is a beloved star of stage and screen. A seven-time Tony Award® nominee, LuPone has twice won the award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical, taking home statues for her role as Eva Perón in the 1979 original Broadway production of Evita and the part of Madame Rose in the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy. She also won the 1985 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her work in two different shows: Fantine in the original London cast of Les Misérables and Moll in The Cradle Will Rock. The mezzo-soprano is a two-time Grammy Award® winner for her 2007 album Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, taking home wins in the Best Classical Album and Best Opera Recording categories.

LuPone has appeared in numerous films and television shows through the years, including Life Goes On, Law & Order, 30 Rock, and Oz. She received a Primetime Emmy Award® nomination for her work in the sitcom Frasier and a Daytime Emmy Award® nod for the television movie The Song Spinner. Recent TV appearances include American Horror Story: Coven, Penny Dreadful, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Steven Universe, where she is the voice of Yellow Diamond. She has appeared as herself in Glee, Will & Grace, and Saturday Night Live. Her film credits include Witness, Driving Miss Daisy, State and Main, Heist, Parker, and The Comedian. In 2010, LuPone became an author with the release of The New York Times bestseller Patti LuPone: A Memoir.
