Sondheim's score is his most operatic, so it fits in perfectly to the opera repertoire. With a cast possessing wide vocal ranges, direction that brings out the humor and heart, and a whimsical production design, this is a warm and winning production of the rich and rewarding musical...The entire cast have vast operatic credits but are equally at home in the world of musical theatre.
