ASU Gammage presents, COWBOY, a stage play about Bass Reeves, a Black deputy marshal, written and directed by Layon Gray.
COWBOY was presented at the 2019 National Black Theatre Festival.
Set In 1888, twenty-three years after the abolishment of slavery, U.S. Deputy Marshal Bass Reeves and his companion Grant Johnson find themselves stuck in a saloon with two wanted criminals.
ASU Gammage will be streaming the free digital performance on its YouTube channel on February 25, Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
