"...A Christmas Story uses humor and physical comedy to present a nostalgic look at the holidays and simple family life in a small town. Based on radio humorist Jean Shepherd's endearing yet humorous stories of growing up in Indiana in the 1940s, and also the 1983 film of the same name, A Christmas Story was adapted for the stage in 2000 by Phillip Grecian (it was also later turned into a big musical adaptation). The stage version delivers many of the classic, comical, iconic moments from the film, and while the cast and direction in Desert Stages' production may be a bit uneven, they still manage to offer a charming production of this warm-hearted story about a small family who is just trying to get by during the holiday season...." -Gil Benbrook, Talkin' Broadway (click here to read the complete review)
