Fountain Hills Community Theater Youth Theater is proud to announce auditions for the second show of the 2011-2012 Season, “The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)”.
“The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)” This children’s story has been musically revitalized with the playful and eclectic tunes of Bill Francoeur! Filled with delightfully wacky characters — including elves Mortz, Schwartz, Hazel, Gracie and Studebaker, this familiar tale is laced with clever dialogue to make audiences of all ages smile. You will want to sing along as you put on your dancing shoes!
“The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)” is the Youth Theater’s second show of the new 2019-2020 season. Available roles include:
Matilda Cobblestone- The Shoemaker’s wife. Fun and bubbly personality! F 14-19
Lockhart Cobblestone- The Shoemaker. Loving, fun, and doting! M 14-19
Sneerella Twerm- The Landlady. She is mean! Even looks mean! F 12 - 19
Old Woman/Fairy Princess- The old woman is old, mysterious, and magical. The fairy princess
is...well...a fairy princess! 10-19
Mortz- Leader elf! M/F- 10-19
Schwartz, Hazel, Gracie,
and Studebaker- Elves! M/F 8-19
Mrs. Snootbottom- A huffy, rich society woman! F 10-19
Mayor Clankbattle- A loud politician! M/F 10-19
Loretta Le Pointe- A flighty, Exotic prima ballerina! F 10-19
Widow Perkins- A frail old lady who is kind and caring! F 10-19
Zoom Corrigan- An Olympic runner. Very fit. Very fast! M/F 10-19
6 Townspeople- An eclectic assortment including a policeman! M/F 8-19
“The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)” is produced by Aimee Avery and directed by Ross Collins with musical direction by Kent Campbell and Choreography by Savannah Grottenthaler
“The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)” auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, October 1st and 2nd, 2019 with possible call backs on Wednesday, October 3rd at 5:45PM. All auditions will be held at the theater: 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd. (1 ½ mi. N. of Shea on east side. Next to Big O tires.).
“The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)” will play Friday evenings at 7:00 and Saturday and Sunday matinee only at 2:00 PM from December 6th to December 22, 2019.
“The Elves and the Shoemaker (The Musical)” Auditioners should be between 8 to 19 years of age, prepare a 1 to 2 minute monologue, 16 bars of an upbeat song or ballad and be dressed to move. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. CD or electronic accompaniment is OK.
