DESERT ADVENTURES - TheaterWorks' PuppetWorks - February 2-16, 2019

TheaterWorks closes out the 2018-19 PuppetWorks season with the debut of an original production. Desert Adventures is on stage in the McMillin Theater February 2, 9 and 16, 2019 with performances at 10:30am and 12:00pm at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. PuppetWorks shows have been described as cartoons brought to life due to the unique use of black light to make the puppets, scenery and even the audience glow in the dark!

Arizona is known for the Sonoran Desert, but how much do you know about all of the plants, animals and reptiles that call it home? Come learn about the wonders of the desert in this educational, immersive puppet performance. Desert Adventures features Arizona wildlife such as saguaro cacti, great horned owls and even a javelina to educate audiences on the beauty of the desert through skilled puppetry.

Desert Adventures is an experience expertly designed for the young and young at heart. Each 40-minute performance includes a post-show tutorial on the puppets used in the show and a brief overview of puppetry manipulation. After the show audience members can meet our puppet friends, take pictures and, for $4.00, make a puppet of their very own to take home with them!

Tickets for Desert Adventures are now on sale. General admission tickets are $8. The production takes place in the McMillin Theater of the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts (10580 N. 83rd Dr. , Peoria, AZ 85345).
