Fountain Hills Theater is proud to announce auditions for Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story
Before The Beatles and The Stones, there was Buddy! Three years was all it took for Buddy Holly to change rock music forever, achieving seven Top 40 songs between 1957 and 1958 in the golden days of rock 'n' roll. Now the hit musical Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story charts the musician's life from his Texas upbringing to his meteoric rise with The Crickets and his tragic early death -- all set to a soundtrack of some of rock 'n' roll's biggest hits. One of the first "jukebox musicals," the show features "That'll Be the Day," "Not Fade Away," "Peggy Sue" and "Oh, Boy!" among other timeless Holly tunes.

Callbacks (If required) Wednesday, Nov. 15th @ 7:00pm

Auditioners are asked to please prepare 16-32 bars of a song that shows off their voice. Please bring sheet music. An accompanist is provided. Dress for dance audition. If you play an instrument, please bring it and prepare to demonstrate.
The theater is located at 11445 N. Saguaro Blvd., Fountain Hills.
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story will be directed by Peter J. Hill and musically directed by Jay Melberg and choreographed by Noel Irick.
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story will play Jan 26 – Feb. 18th. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. All rehearsals will be held at the theater.
Casting for:
Buddy Holly: Male. 20’s The lead singer for The Crickets. A charismatic, talented, charming young man. This actor must have tremendous vocal talent, with acting abilities to match. Must play rhythm guitar, better if he can play rock and roll lead guitar. This is a paid position.
Joe Maudlin: Male. 20’s The quick tempered bass player for the Crickets. Must sing and act well. Must play stand-up bass well. This is a paid position.
Jerry Allison: Male. 20’s The drummer for The Crickets. Must sing and act well. Must play drums well. This is a paid position.
A Cricket: Male. 20’s A very strong rock and roll lead guitarist.
Richie Valens: 20’s The famous Latino singer. Great dance moves, oozes sex appeal, tremendous charm and talent. Terrific singer and actor.
Performer at the Apollo Theater. Male. 20’s-50’s. Talented African-American Soul and Rock and Roll singer. Must act well. Play an instrument a plus.
