both Jennifer Haaland of the Examiner and Doris Nehrbass from Raising Arizona Kids recently spoke to North Scottsdale native Emily Blake Anderson who is appearing in the National Tour of 42nd Street, which plays at ASU Gammage next week.
from Jennifer Haaland's feature story at the Examiner:
"North Scottsdale doesn't get to see much of Emily Blake Anderson these days. Though raised here, the fiery tap dancer currently touring with the Broadway production of "42nd Street" that arrives at ASU Gammage on Tuesday has been dancing out her dreams in New York in recent years. In a few days however, the tour brings her home, as Anderson discussed yesterday in a visit with Examiner. The first exposure I had to musical theatre was at ASU Gammage," begins the blue-eyed blonde who plays "bold and sassy" Ethel in the ensemble at Gammage next week. "I saw 'Chorus Line' and then later got to see the revival tour of '42nd Street' [2001 Tony winner for Best Musical Revival] in the auditorium where I'll be dancing this time!" from Doris Nehrbass' interview at Raising Arizona Kids:
"Currently on a national tour with the musical “42nd Street,” former Valley resident Emily Blake Anderson says, “This is my first time, and I’m really enjoying it.” Good thing, because when the tour is over, she’ll have experienced plenty of days on the road. The show appears April 5-10 at ASU Gammage Theater in Tempe. “We opened in Salt Lake City, Utah, back in September,” Anderson says. “We’re closing in Tulsa, Okla., in July.” CLICK HERE to read more of Doris' interview
