"It's always a joy seeing a local performer make it to the big time. Nick Cartell, who grew up in Phoenix and went to Arizona State University, is now appearing as Jean Valjean in the national tour of Les Misérables. One of the most beloved songs in that classic musical is "Bring Him Home," which has a special meaning when Cartell sings it in the current stop on the tour at ASU Gammage, as not only is Phoenix Cartell's hometown but the tour of the show is currently playing at the same university where Nick graduated and on the same stage where he received his diploma.
