Following the tremendous success of our inaugural AdaptiveWorks production, Annie Jr., TheaterWorks is excited to announce Disney’s The AristoCats, Kids as our Spring AdaptiveWork.
Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns.

In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it’s up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O’Malley, and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day.
The AdaptiveWorks program is supported by funds from the Peoria Arts Commission.
Currently in its first year, TheaterWorks’ AdaptiveWorks provides genuine theatrical experiences to people with both mental and physical disabilities from the audition process to the rehearsals and then, finally, to the performance. Through this process, actors are able to benefit from the experience of creating a full theatrical production from beginning to end. This process allows them to explore their creativity and talents in a supportive setting outside the confines of everyday life. The program consists of an eleven week process. The performers meet for two one and a half hour rehearsals weekly with the focus being on the performance side of theater.
