Performance Dates: April 25th – May 5th, at Tempe Center for the Arts
Pay: There will be a $350 performance stipend provided
Rehearsals start:
Middle to end of March and will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights plus Saturdays and Sundays, with an occasional Friday night. All rehearsals will be held at Conservatory of Dance in Phoenix. There will be a rehearsal schedule with specific dates provided at auditions and a conflict sheet to fill out.

Audition Requirements:
Singing/Acting Call
Audition times must be reserved and will be assigned every 5 minutes. Please prepare one vocal selection of 32 bars or less. You will need to have sheet music in the proper key; an accompanist will be provided. No CDs or acapella singing will be allowed. You may be asked to do a second vocal selection and/or a monologue not to exceed 1 minute, so please have those ready.
Dance Call
As the dance call is first on both days, please arrive in enough time to warm up and be ready to dance. Please wear dance appropriate clothes and shoes. All adult females should wear character heels if possible. There will be a jazz routine and a tap routine taught at the dance call, so please bring tap shoes. If you don't tap that is ok, there are ensemble dance roles in this production that do not require tap.
There are non-singing dance roles in this production. If you are a dancer that does not sing, and only want to be considered for the dance parts, please call or email anyway so that we know you will be attending the dance call.

Performers, please remember that SMTC originally auditioned and cast this production this past summer when the performance dates were for September of 2018. Roles showing as "Cast" are from that casting, and those performers are still available and committed to being in the production now. All other roles listed and all ensemble parts are open.

Millie Dillmount
Starring role. Actress must be a legitimate triple threat. Must have incredible stage presence. Needs to be a very strong tap dancer along with solid jazz dance technique. Needs exceptional acting skills, with comic timing abilities.
Age: Early to mid 20's, Vocal range: Mezzo/Soprano, with a belt.
Trevor Graydon
Think a melodrama version of Gaston without all the muscles. Handsome, tall, charming, a little full of himself. Almost soap opera-y in character. Must have a very strong singing voice. Needs exceptional acting skills, with comic timing abilities. Should be able to move a little. This role does not need to attend the dance call.
Age: Late 20's to mid 30's, Vocal range: Baritone
Priscilla Girls
These are Millie's friends at the hotel. Need to be strong singers with solid harmony abilities. Will also double in the ensemble. Need to come to the dance audition. Do not need to tap, bonus if you can.

Muzzy's Boys
These are Muzzy's 4 back up singers for her nightclub. Need to be strong singers with solid harmony abilities. Will also double in the ensemble. Need to come to the dance audition. Do not need to tap, bonus if you can.
Age: 20's to 30's, Vocal range: Vary
Ensemble
This show requires a solid ensemble. All small roles will come from the ensemble. Need to have a very strong singing voice and be comfortable singing harmonies. All ensemble roles will need to dance so participation at the dance call is required. Tap in not necessarily required to be considered for the ensemble, so if you are a strong dancer but don't tap you can attend just the jazz portion of the dance call.
