A Stage of Mind Holiday Tradition Begins
Join us as we bring the beloved classic Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas to life on stage. This heartwarming story follows Emmet and Ma Otter as they each set out to give the other the perfect Christmas, only to discover that the things that matter most can't be bought.
Filled with music, laughter, friendship, and holiday spirit, this all-ages production welcomes performers of all experience levels and will feature singing, acting, puppetry, and plenty of opportunities to be part of something truly special.
For generations, this story has reminded audiences that family, friendship, and community are life's greatest gifts. We are honored to be among the first organizations granted licensing rights to produce this newly released adaptation and proud to introduce Arizona audiences to what we hope will become a cherished annual tradition.
After all, all we needed was each otter.

Join Stage of Mind Performing Arts this fall for Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas: The Musical! Based on the beloved Jim Henson holiday special, this all-ages production will bring the story to life through music, storytelling, and a heavy focus on puppetry. Students will have the chance to explore both acting and puppeteering as they work together to create a truly one-of-a-kind theatrical experience full of heart, creativity, and holiday spirit.
All ages community theater...everyone who enrolls will be able to be a part of the show. Rehearsals are at Crossroads Nazarene Church @ 2950 W Ray Road, Chandler AZ 85224 and the performances are at Desert Cross Lutheran Church (8600 S McClintock Drive, Tempe AZ 852840
Rehearsals are once per week on Tuesdays starting on July 28th. At that rehearsal we go over all the characters and essentially learn and practice what we are looking for with each character. Then the next week, casting/auditions will take place (August 4th).
Tech rehearsals are Dec 16th and 17th and then performances are Dec 18, 19, and 20.
