John’s boyfriend will wait for him while he “figures himself out.” But so will John’s girlfriend. This deliciously witty dark comedy, told will pure theatricality, is an engagingly unique perspective on affairs of the heart... and that OTHER part of the body.
NEEDED
3 men an 1 woman between the ages of 18-50+
CHARACTERS
“JOHN” (male 25-35) After several years in a relationship, he suddenly needs to “find himself.” His fear of commitment, or perhaps just his incredible self-involvement, make him unable to choose between two people who love him. It’s never clear what he likes more, affection... or attention. THIS
ROLE REQUIRES NUDITY.
“M” (male 25-35) John’s longterm boyfriend. Is he truly in love with John, or does he just like being walked on and left on the hook? Compassionate, needy and maybe a little too understanding. THIS
ROLE REQUIRES NUDITY.
“W” (female 25-35) John’s new girlfriend. Maybe a little obsessive? Follows John around and plays on his doubts about his relationships. Also willing to wait for him to make a decision. THIS ROLE REQUIRES NUDITY
“F” (male 50+) M’s father. He accepted John into the family when his son started seeming him. Now’s he’s pretty miffed that John is sleeping with a woman and making his son wait around for a decision.
AUDITIONS
will be held on MONDAY, November 30th from 6:00pm - 10:00pm at Metro Arts Institute on 7th Ave. & McDowell. Two groups will be assembled, one starting at 6:00pm and one at 8:15pm.
PREPARE
cold reads from the script. Sides will be issues via email if actors submit and electronic headshot and resume (or any picture and a brief summary of experience). British accents are not required for the audition, although if you have a POLISHED one, then feel free to use it.
CALLBACKS
will be held on TUESDAY, December 1st at 6:00pm
PLEASE NOTE
Actors called back for John, M and W will be asked to appear briefly in their underwear (do please wear some).
REHEARSALS BEGIN
Sunday, Dec. 6th. 4 to 5 nights a week, 6:00PM to 10:30PM.
There will be NO REHEARSALS on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
