"...(Stephen) Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is a crowd-pleasing show with one of Sondheim's richest scores and an identifiable story about injustice, revenge and redemption. Arizona Broadway Theatre's production, their first stand-alone show outside of their main Peoria home since becoming a resident theatre company at the Herberger Theater Center, is simply brilliant, with a cast, direction, and creative elements that are some of the best I've ever seen for a production of this show....As Sweeney, Tony Edgerton is sensational. ...His pure, rich and clear voice delivers soaring notes on every song. Cassandra Klaphake is appropriately bold and brassy as Mrs. Lovett...with a no-nonsense, matter of fact delivery in every line of dialogue and lyric. ...Kiel Klaphake's direction makes great use of Aaron Sheckler's superb two-story set...Musical director James May achieves an amazing, rich and full sound from the small orchestra and strong, powerful harmonies from the cast. ...eerily atmospheric, gorgeous, hauntingly beautiful, and chilling with an excellent cast and solid direction that deliver extremely full, rich and rewarding performances. The end result is a deliciously tasty and satisfyingly macabre treat. " -Gil Benbrook, Talkin' Broadway (click here to read the complete review)

"Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but if you really want to cut to the chase, a shave by the Demon Barber of Fleet Street will fit the bill even better with the added bonus of a savory serving of hot meat pie. SWEENEY TODD proves the point and provides the chilling details....Tony Edgerton (a cold and calculated Sweeney) and Cassandra Klaphake (as Mrs. Lovett, in a performance as razor sharp as Sweeney's blade) heat things up big time in Arizona Broadway Theatre's production of the show, directed by Kiel Klaphake. ...There is much more to enjoy in this production.."Herbert Paine, Broadway World (click here to read the complete review)
