Auditions for SEMINAR at Explorers' Theatre Collective announced for December 2

Explorer's Theatre Collective will hold auditions for Seminar on Saturday, December 2nd with callbacks held on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:30pm. There will be six performances held on Fridays and Saturdays for the first two weekends of February (Feb. 2nd- Feb10th).

Both auditions and performances will be held at the Scottsdale Congregational United Church of Christ through the Scottsdale Neighborhood Arts Place (SNAP) in Scottsdale

Play Summary :
Four young aspiring writers hire a renowned literary professor for a ten-week seminar, with the hopes of advancing both their careers and their craft. Not all lessons are easily learned however, and they will find themselves having signed up for more than they originally anticipated.

Characters:

• Leonard - (M) The seminar's brutally honest and at times misanthropic professor. He has a long and storied history in writing and the arts.

• Martin - (M) Self-doubting and reluctant to share his work. Martin struggles both financially and with his views on art and the world at large. He and Kate are childhood friends.

• Kate - (F) Affluent and well-educated, she provides her rent-controlled apartment as the venue for the seminar. She has been rewriting the same story for the past six years.

• Izzy - (F) Confident in her own skin and sexually liberated, Izzy is accustomed to attention and more than happy to use it to her advantage. She views her writing as a means to an end.

• Douglas - (M) Upper-class, well-connected and related to accomplished artists. His tendency to name-drop often overshadows what actual talent he has.
