Auditions for DONE TO DEATH at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre announced for October 27

SYNOPSIS:

Done To Death is a 1970 play written by Fred Carmichael. The plot focuses on five has-been Mystery Fiction writers who are brought to the mysterious Vulture’s Vault to collaborate on and write a new murder mystery TV series, incorporating all their styles and we get to see their ideas through their "imagination" scenes… and then the real murders start to happen.

A classic mystery-comedy. Once famous mystery writers involve the audience as they apply their individual methods to solving various murders. They include a couple who write sophisticated murders, a young author of the James Bond school, a retired writer of the hard-hitting method, and an aging queen of the logical murder.

The play is parody of the murder mystery genre as each writer has their own style that they use in hopes of figuring out the murders. The script cleverly pokes fun at the standard mystery plots, heroes, and villains, with witty and fast-paced dialog. It engages the audience and features a surprise ending.
