Bedřich Smetana’s “The Bartered Bride” is one of the most beloved operas of all time, and remains to this day a pivotal work in the history of Czech language and musical history. Overflowing with beautiful melodies, lively dancing, colorful costumes, and a comedic circus scene, this delightful comedy pits the machinations of an old-world matchmaker against two young lovers, with results that are both touching, hilarious and fun for audiences of all ages. The production will be sung in English with projected surtitles.
