Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables School Edition packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world. This author-approved edition has been abridged to a running time of just over two hours, while carefully maintaining the integrity of one the greatest musicals ever written.

In the Village of the Brothers Grimm

McMillin Theater
November 4-20, 2016

“Meet with villager’s wise and silly industrious, lazy and in love, and discover the richness of those who reside in the village of the Brothers Grimm.”

A gangster-fairy, an unlikely hero, a rhyming witch and a crying princess are some of the characters unleashed in this fast-paced play. Comedy, heroics, witches, magic, goodness, love, loss and healing are explored using eight stories of the Brothers Grimm.

The Pauper Princess
McMillin Theater
March 3-19, 2017

“Add a twist of Elizabethan England and you’ve got
The Pauper Princess –
a retelling of Mark Twain’s
The Prince and the Pauper.”

It’s a classic story. Two identical-looking people from completely different backgrounds switch places. Rich swaps with poor. Poor swaps with rich. Before Queen Elizabeth ascended the throne, she was just Princess Elizabeth, fending off suitors too old and too fat. Theresa wears rags and scrounges for food. She’s so desperate she pretends to be a boy so she can be in a play. When Princess and Pauper come face-to-face, when one becomes the other, when King Henry VIII dies and everyone is vying for the Great Seal of England (and we don’t mean the sea animal) who knows what will happen? Maybe Shakespeare has a clue…

Once Upon a Mattress
Gyder Theater
May 5-21, 2017

“If you thought you knew the story of the Princess and the Pea you are in for a walloping surprise.”

Did you know, that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larken’s love for Sir Harry provided a rather compelling reason that she reach the bridal altar post haste? Or that, in fact, it wasn’t the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans. Chances are you’ll never look at fairy tales quite the same way again.
