She Loves Me takes place in Budapest, Hungary in the late 1930s. It focuses on Mr. Maraczek and the employees of his Parfumerie, particularly George and Amalia, two bickering co-workers who are unknowingly falling in love with each other as pen pals.
Based on Miklos Laszlo's play, Parfumerie, George and Amalia's story has also been told in the films The Shop Around The Corner, In The Good Old Summertime, and most recently, You've Got Mail.
