The ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence launches fund-raising campaign to support local theatres and theatre artists in these uncertain times.


The ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence whose motto is “Many Stages, One Community”  launches fund raiser to benefit local theatres and artists during these challenging times.

The ariZoni Board of Directors, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and celebrate the theatrical arts in Arizona, has launched the AZ Theatre Organization and Artist Relief Fund to support artists and theatres.   The organization will be matching dollar for dollar up to the first $5,000 raised.  At the time of this press release, $4290 had already been raised by the group.

Theatres and artists are clearly feeling the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as we witness productions and seasons being postponed and placed on hiatus. With no way to supplement or adjust to continue to generate income, many theatres and contracted artists and technicians have will be struggling to stay afloat. 

For every dollar donated to the ariZoni Theater Organization and Artist Relief fund, the organization will match it dollar for dollar up to the first $5,000 raised.
These grants will be distributed on a three tier system:

1. ariZoni member theatres
2. Theatre artists and technicians from the valley
3. Other valley theatres
