Fountain Hills Theater is proud to hold tryouts for the newly created ACT OUT! Outreach Program, generously underwritten by Boeing Crystal Vision.  This outreach program is designed to entertain youth, senior citizens, community organizations and more throughout the Valley with three outstanding performance groups:  Artist Company: This traveling performance company features an inspiring group of young vocalists whose performances are designed to delight and entertain audiences of all ages. These performances are exciting and diverse featuring a variety of uplifting songs from Broadway and beyond. Beyond the Storybook: This troupe provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to enjoy some of their favorite fairy tales and fables and brought to life, with fun twists, lots of imagination and even a little interaction. This performance is entertaining for all ages but is designed for younger audiences. Truth in Action Touring Group: This troupe will be taking the award-winning YABOY troupe (young actors benefiting other youth) to Valley schools. This 30-minute long touring play, performed by accomplished young actors to which other teens can relate, is designed to tackle tough social issues impacting middle and high school students today.   Step into the Storybook recently had the privilege of performing at The Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The performance took place in the patient common area and was broadcast live into the rooms of children confined to bed, so they could enjoy the show too!  Theater Executive Director, Val Stasik, Randy Beard, Act Out! Project Manager, and Director, Devin Derr, were interviewed by the  local Fox Channel 10 morning news show.  Wouldn’t you love to be part of this?  You tell us what you want to do! We need lots and lots of people to allow for scheduling flexibility.  We do not want to make everybody busy every weekend!  The try-outs will be simple and fun.  You will learn a song and can even sing in small groups. If you just want to sing, that is great.  If you want to act, that is wonderful.  Want to do both? We like that too! Actors should also prepare an age-appropriate monologue under 2 minutes in length. Everybody, please bring a recent picture of yourself. We do not need professional head shots.  If you are under 18, please also bring along a parent! Plan to be available for a flexible rehearsal schedule, one to two times per week.  There is no participation fee to be a member of this group!
