November 4th - November 22nd, 2015:

Our fall repertory event, on alternating nights, featuring two hilarious and romantic Arizona premieres

 The Taming, by Lauren Gunderson

Directed by:  Amanda Noel Trombley

Tweetering, pandashrews, and undying giddiness for James Madison — what else could you expect to find at a Miss America pageant? In this hilarious, raucous, all-female “power-play” inspired by Shakespeare’s Shrew, contestant Katherine has political aspirations to match her beauty pageant ambitions. All she needs to revolutionize the American government is the help of one ultra-conservative senator’s aide on the cusp of a career breakthrough, and one bleeding-heart liberal blog.

Failure:  A Love Story, by Philip Dawkins
Directed by:  David Dickinson

By the end of 1928, all 3 Fail sisters will be dead, expiring in reverse order, youngest to oldest: blunt object to the head, disappearance, & finally consumption. Tuneful songs and a whimsical chorus follow the story of Nelly, Jenny June, and Gerty as they live out their lives above the family clock repair shop near the Chicago River, before their time unexpectedly runs out. A magical, musical fable where, in the end, the power of love is far greater than any individual’s successes or failures.
