Sister’s Easter Catechism: Will My Bunny Go to Heaven?
March 31 – April 5, 2015

Arizona’s favorite ruler-wielding nun, Sister, is back in the habit at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts! Starring Patti Hannon, the Late Nite Catechism comedies return by popular demand Jan. 9 through March 28. The original Late Nite Catechism is performed on most Fridays at 8 p.m., and the sequel Late Nite Catechism III: ’Til Death Do Us Part runs on most Saturdays at 8 p.m. A special holiday treat, Sister’s Easter Catechism: Will My Bunny Go to Heaven? also returns for a limited engagement March 31 through April 5.
Tickets for all classes are $39. A complete schedule of dates and times is available at www.ScottsdalePerformingArts.org or through 480-499-TKTS (8587). Students of all ages and faiths are welcome, and classroom participation is encouraged.
Spontaneous, clever and outrageously fun, the record-breaking Late Nite Catechism has been running every season at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts since 2000. Ruling her classroom with a razor-sharp wit, Sister teaches her students – who happen to be the audience – everything she knows about sins and saints while giving out rewards and reprimands with lightning speed.
In Late Nite Catechism III: ’Til Death Do Us Part, Sister offers up the latest dogma fresh off the World Wide Web, some hilarious lessons about love and marriage, and her own outrageous version of The Newlywed Game.
Part pageant and “holy” hysterical Sister’s Easter Catechism: Will My Bunny Go to Heaven? unearths the origins of Easter bunnies, eggs, bonnets, baskets and, of course, those yummy marshmallow Peeps. Sister answers eternally perplexing questions about pet heaven and the significance of those adorable baby chicks. Students are also encouraged to wear their finest Easter bonnets.
Starring as "Sister" is Patti Hannon.  Patti began her Sister habit in 1995, performing Late Nite Catechism in Chicago, then Boston and New York. In 2000 she came to Arizona to star in the production at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, where she has played the role of Sister ever since. Hannon was named “The Best Habit in Town” by Phoenix Magazine and earned an AriZoni Award for Late Nite Catechism’s longevity. Outside of the habit, she has been seen as Millie in The Bakers of Lakewood and as Woman in Woman and Girl at Space 55 in Phoenix. Hannon appeared as the late environmentalist Gertrude Divine Webster, one of the founders of the Desert Botanical Garden, throughout that organization’s 75th anniversary year. She also teaches adult acting and improvisation classes, and is a visiting artist at local schools.
