Tony Nominee LAURA OSNES to offer Master Class in Scottsdale on January 23

Laura Osnes will be offering a masterclass, ahead of her January 24th performance at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 in the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Stage 2.

Only six students between the ages of 17 to 25 will be chosen to participate in the one-on-one workshop on Thursday, Jan. 23. Osnes will work directly with six participants on audition technique and song interpretation. Students will break down their song material with one-on-one coaching in front of our observer audience. Finally, students will have the opportunity to be part of a Q&A with Osnes at the end of the session.

If you would like to be considered for the class, please submit a resume and a digital video clip (ideally 2 minutes or less) or YouTube link to your performance of a musical theatre selection of your choosing.

Send an email with your resume and video by Jan. 20 to MeribethR@ScottsdaleArts.org. Please include a short note with why you’d like to be chosen to participate and what you hope to get from this experience. The selected participants will be contacted by Jan. 22. Those selected will be asked to pay a $75 fee, which helps cover the cost of the piano accompanist and staffing that night. Scholarship support based on need may be requested.

Additionally, this masterclass is also open to observers. Those not chosen to participate in the one-on-one workshop and other musical theatre students and teachers are more than welcome to attend as observers. Tickets to observe the class are $20 per person. Seating is limited, you may purchase online at ScottsdalePerformingArts.org.
