Now & Then Creative Company, a new, non-profit theatre and film organization, is gearing up for “POE-SSESSED!” by Ron Peer, the first in a three-part new play workshop series called Sandbox - which emphasizes the development and presentation of unpublished plays from Arizona writers. Over the course of one week, the playwright will work with a director, cast, and dramaturg to explore and refine their play.

“POE-SSESSED!” follows the story of failing horror writer Eric Brennan, who is obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe - so obsessed, that after Eric is struck by lightning, Poe returns from the dead to help him write a bestselling novel. One problem - they’re a lousy writing team and their best (and only) idea requires murdering a mega-successful rival novelist and stealing his manuscript. Unfortunately, they're no better at homicide than co-authoring - especially when the victim won't stay dead.
“POE-SSESSED!” is presented Friday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Metropolitan Arts
