"Clue: The Musical brings the classic board game humorously to life on stage, inviting audiences to step into a world of murder, mystery and mayhem. With a talented cast who ensure the comic moments in the show pop, Arizona Broadway Theatre is presenting a gorgeously designed production of this amusing show which had a short Off-Broadway run in 1997. It's just a shame the musical score and convoluted script leave a little to be desired...The characters are brought to life with larger-than-life performances that capture the essence of their board game counterparts...The cast is a highlight of the production, delivering energetic performances that elevate the material, even when Peter DePietro's book leans too heavily on campy humor. The book and score (music by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker, and Vinnie Martucci with lyrics by Tom Chiodo) don't leave much of a lasting impression as the melodies are mostly forgettable and the lyrics, though occasionally clever, often feel forced and lack the wit needed to match the show's zany premise....While Clue may not be a great musical, Arizona Broadway Theatre's production has a fun cast and rich creative elements and it keeps audiences guessing throughout as to the identity of the killer, the murder weapon, and the room in which the murder took place."  - Gil Benbrook, TalkinBroadway.com (click here to read the complete review)
