Valley Youth Theatre's Fall 2016 Classes

Ages: 12 - 17 years old This is a weekly class that focuses on the fundamentals of improvisation through exercises that help to develop strong ensemble and character work. Develop stage presence as well as patience, self confidence, story building, quick thinking, good communication skills and a respect for other performers and their creativity. First Class:  Monday, September 19, 2016 Class Day & Time: Mondays, 5:00pm - 6:30pm This class is 8 weeks plus a fun showcase at the end to show-off for parents and friends. Fee: $165.   ALL experience levels welcome! Ages: 5 - 12 years old This is a weekly class that will teach students the EXCITING elements of musical theatre including: acting, dance, diction,  pitch, rhythm, tempo and ensemble work.   Students will perform ensemble numbers from Broadway shows for their showcase. First Class:  Tuesday, September 20, 2016 Class Selections: Ages 5-8  Tuesdays, 5:00pm - 6:20pm Ages 9-12  Tuesdays, 6:40pm - 8:00pm This class is 8 weeks plus a fun showcase at the end to show-off for parents and friends Fee: $165  ALL experience levels welcome! Technique  Ages: 7 - 11 years old This class is designed to help unlock imagination and build an arts foundation by studying the fundamentals of acting including: voice, movement, characterization and stage direction. A professional performing arts instructor will show unique ways to better approach the stage by teaching methods to sharpen audition & performance skills, understand direction, make adjustments and make strong choices...all the elements that will give a young actor confidence.  First Class: Wednesday, September 21, 2016 Class Day & Time:  Wednesdays, 5:00pm - 6:20pm Fee: $165      This class is 8 weeks plus a fun showcase at the end to show-off for parents and friends Fee: $165.   ALL experience levels welcome! Ages: 12 -17 years old In this dynamic class, students are the given the tools to tackle any classical, contemporary or orginal script. This class will focus on building and deepening fundamental skills; relationship, conflict, action and personalization through the use of challenging and fun exercises.  First Class: Wednesday, September 21, 2016 Class Day & Time:  Wednesdays, 6:40pm - 8:00pm     This class is 8 weeks and culminates with a low key performance for family and friends. Fee:$165 ALL experience levels welcome! Ages: 12 -17 years old Triple Threat is a weekly class for the serious performer who wants to focus on the big three performing arts disciplines: acting, dance and voice. Each season focuses more in depth on a different discipline. Fall: Dance, Movement, Ensemble performance Winter: Singing for the stage- Solo/Ensemble Performance Spring: Acting and Scene work First Class: Thursday, September 22, 2016 Class Day & Time: Thursdays, 5:00pm - 6:30pm Fee: $165     This class is 8 weeks and culminates with a low key performance for family and friends. ALL experience levels welcome! VYT Internship Program Valley Youth Theatre Internship Program is for dependable, professional, and energetic teens (13+) to assist with performing arts classes and camps. Positions available for weekday or weekend classes per session and camps. Interns must commit to the entire length of the session or camp. SATURDAY CLASSES Ages: 5 - 8 years old Explore the world of drama and dance using the themes and music from our favorite stories! Each day will be filled with dramatic games to warm up our bodies and voices and get our imaginations ready for theatrical exploration. Students will learn theatre skills and terms, engage in dramatic play, explore dance and movement.   First Class: Saturday, September 17, 2016 Class Day & Time:  Saturdays, 9:00am - 9:45am  Fee: $115     This class is 8 weeks and culminates with a low key performance for family and friends. ALL experience levels welcome! Play Pretend! Ages: 3 - 4 years old Play Pretend introduces young children to theatre through role playing and movement.  Each week your little actor will embark on a new adventure in play and creativity.  Feed your child's fertile imagination with theater games, crazy costumes, storytelling, funny dances, magic, music and more. Move to the beat of fun music and new twists on favorite stories or new ones they create. First Class: Saturday, September 17, 2016 Class Day & Time:  Saturdays, 10:00am - 10:45am  Fee: $115     This class is 8 weeks and culminates with a low key performance for family and friends. ALL experience levels welcome! Participating classes will collectively  showcase their work in an evening performance at   the conclusion of the session on Friday, November 11th. *Classes require a minimum number of students. Individual Sessions (Scheduled individually upon availability) Preparing for an audition? Want personal training? Work one-on-one with VYT to improve your performance skills in voice, cold readings, monologue performance, characterization, and stage presence for your upcoming audition.  Individual Audition Prep $45.00 /30 min or $70.00/ 1-hour session Sessions can be scheduled on an as needed basis.
