Valley Youth Theatre's 2018 VYTal Event!

from our friends at Valley Youth Theatre:

On Saturday, August 18, Valley Youth Theater held their largest – and only fundraising event of the year, The VYTal (Valley Youth Theatre Applauds Leadership) Affair.

Nearly 400 Valley community leaders, parents and patrons of the arts were in attendance at Herberger Theater Center to help VYT celebrate and raise funding for their 30th Anniversary season. Marquee sponsors Billie Jo and Judd Herberger were in attendance, along with the VYT Board of Directors and staff.

A silent auction with more than 100 items donated from local businesses was held in the lobby and on Stage West, along with donated food and beverages from several local restaurants and catering companies. Everyone was then ushered into Center Stage where John and Gina Salazar Hook hosted the evening that was interspersed with VYTALITY (Valley Youth Theater Applauds Leadership Impacting Today’s Youth) Awards.

This year’s Corporate VYTALITY Award was presented to Grand Canyon University and the Individual Award went to Pam Kirby. Twenty-year VYT Board Member, Laura Stover, received this year’s Superstar Award. Auctiontainer Letitia Frye conducted a rousing live auction and the cast of Newsies performed selected numbers from the show. Choreographer sponsors were APS, BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona, Grand Canyon University and Doug & Gwen Parker.
