audition notice - PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL - Fountain Hills Youth Theater - April 8 and 9
“Pinkalicious the Musical” is a heartwarming musical based on the popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, about a young girl named Pinkalicious who can’t stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor’s office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe – a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament. Pinkalicious the Musical is about learning the power of self-control and the importance of moderation.
Audition Dates:
Mon. April 8 & Tues. April 9 at 5:45pm
(Possible callbacks April 10 at 5:45pm)
Ages 8-19
Production dates: May 31–June 16, 2019
CASTING (Ages 8-19):
PINKALICIOUS: Female, Ages 8-15. Alto/Mezzo with Belt Capabilities. Precocious, Joyful, obsessed with PINK. She learns that more is not always better, learns self-control, and of course, learns the power of pink!
PETER: Male, 8-15. Tenor. Pinkalicious’s younger brother. He secretly desires to enjoy pink like his sister and to express himself creatively. He helps his sister get over her pinkness, and earns the right to express himself freely.
MRS. PINKERTON: Female, 15-19. Alto/Mezzo. Pink’s Mom. She is always busy, but learns to be less rigid and to find her inner girl.
MR. PINKERTON: Male, 15-19; Bari-tenor. Pink’s Dad. Starts off a bit close-minded and strict, but learns to become less so.
ALISON: Female, 8-15. Mezzo Soprano. Pinkalicious’s best friend. She learns to not be jealous, and that the grass is not always greener.
DR. WINK: Female, 15-19. Mezzo Soprano. A pediatrician– Diagnoses “Pinkatitus” and tells Pinkalicious to eat green food to stop being pink!
BIRDS, BEES, BUTTERFLIES– Any gender, 8-19. Soprano and/or Tenor. Appear in several dream sequences during the show. Tap dance skill is a plus (not required).
