WHERE: Tempe Performing Arts Center, 132 E 6th St in Tempe
NEEDED: 3 F, 2 M
Elizabeth Miller - A woman; 40s, a widow, a single mother; strong, steadfast, capable, but sarcastic and definitely not the best communicator; honestly trying to do right by her son and make this day like any other.
Bailey Miller - A man; early 20s, sarcastic, hipster, a bit sullen, but pleasant enough if pushed & hungry to fit in. Struggling to find his footing in life. Dissociative. And probably very dangerous.
Maxine Sailors - A woman; early 20s, beautiful, full of promise, erratic & really not as nice as she could be ‐ but given the circumstances, it’s hard to fault her.
Cerberus - A woman; laid‐back therapist vibe, pretty with a pedigree, but not snooty, the personification of the mythic, three‐headed dog guarding the entrance to the underworld.
Radio Voice/Death - A “man;” good natured with a wry, warm humor to take the edge off; sharp in look with a good flow, but a bit out of sorts. A force of nature.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
PLUTO
by Steve Yockey
February 20 - March 7, 2015
Directed by Ron May
The new play from the writer of WOLVES and OCTOPUS.
In the wake of a violent tragedy at a local community college, a single mother struggles to reconnect with her withdrawn son across the breakfast table as mysterious forces threaten to invade the kitchen. Continually interrupted by a talkative three-headed dog, a radio gone haywire, and an animated refrigerator, time is running short for mother and son to deal with the morning's events. “And so I leave you with a warning: This is not Yockey writing in the sexually sinister, frequently delicious style of “Wolves” and “Octopus.” It is a much more potent cup o’ joe. Not everyone will want to see this play. Those who do may never be the same again.” – Atlanta Journal Constitution

THIS COULD BE MURDER Actor's Youth Theatre December 17 - 20, 2014

Directed by Zack Diepstraten

This Could Be Murder
By Craig Sodaro

When media giant Noah Lott suddenly drops dead from suspicious causes, Polly DeWitt, the host of "The-Polly-DeWitt-My-Way-Show" sees this as a great media opportunity and decides to throw a dinner party to solve the murder. Along with her offbeat staff of so-called experts and a little "help" from the local law, she tries to find the murderer but lo and behold two more bodies turn up.
As the body count rises, things quickly turn into a comedic unorganized chaotic mess. Who's the murderer? Is it Polly? Is it Verna, Polly's trustworthy housekeeper? Is it me? Or perhaps....... is it you???

FOOTLOOSE - Actor's Youth Theatre - January 21 - 31, 2015

Music by Tom Snow
Lyrics by Dean Pitchford

Stage Adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie
Based on the original screenplay by Dean Pitchford
Additional Music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 15 million copies!) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, FOOTLOOSE celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people.
