audition notice - GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER - Don Bluth Front Row Theatre - June 25 & 26



When Joanna Drayton, a free-thinking white woman, and black doctor John Prentice become engaged, they travel to San Francisco to meet her parents. Matt Drayton and his wife Christina are wealthy liberals who must confront the latent racism the coming marriage arouses. Also attending the Drayton’s dinner are Prentice's parents, who vehemently disapprove of the relationship.

Cast:
Matilda “Tilly” Binks- African/American female - the Drayton’s maid- age range 40+
Hilary St. George – white female – gallery manager age range 45+
Christina Drayton – white female – 50+ Lead
Matt Drayton – white male – 60+ Lead
Joanna Drayton – white female – 25 – Lead
Dr. John Prentice – African/American male – 35-40 – Lead
Monsignor Ryan – white male – 60+
John Prentice Sr – African/American male – 60+
Mary Prentice – African/American female – 60+

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, June 25th and Wednesday, 26th
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script as well as a one minute monologue

Please provide your headshot and resume in the email. We will respond with your time slot. Bringing your headshot and resume to the audition is recommended, but not required.

Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner runs from August 22nd to September 28th. There will be a total of 23 performances, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (including Saturday matinees).

A stipend of $200 will be provided. Dispersal will be discussed during the first rehearsal.
