Lynzee 4Man

by Gil Benbrook

Our series of "Quarantine" interviews, which focus on individuals involved in the Phoenix theatre community and their reaction to Arizona's stay at home mandate, continues today with a conversation with actress, choreographer, director and teacher Lynzee 4Man.

COVID-19 has affected us all in many ways. The theatre community has been harshly impacted with show closures and postponements. We hope this series of daily interviews will be a way to provide some personal insight to what people are doing during this period of time while highlighting familiar individuals from the theatre community in town.

Was there a show you were in or involved with or preparing for when the stay at home order started?

Lynzee: "Our concert company Brock Pro Entertainment has several concerts that were canceled or postponed the first two weeks of all of this . In addition, we are both involved in The Rocky Horror Show at The Phoenix Theatre Company That has now been pushed back several months."

How have you been personally impacted by our current situation?

"Our livelihood was basically SHUT DOWN. Our way to make a living and provide for our family as well as the one thing we were put on this earth for is now something we physically can not do."

How has your daily routine changed?

"We have found as many ways as we can to keep busy. But also trying to keep a VERY energetic 3 1/2 year old busy when there are no parks or school , it’s full time job! "

What do you feel will be different when theater restarts?

"I definitely think it will be a slow process and that we will have to ease back into it, there will be challenges to overcome. But I know that the arts will rise. "

When do you think that’ll happen?

"I haven’t the slightest clue, that’s beyond my pay grade! I leave that info to the experts!"

Mark and I have been hosting online cabarets and performances on our Brock Pro Entertainment Facebook page as well as being involved in several performances  for Phoenix Theatre Company and Arizona Broadway Theater also teaching young performers in the Virtual HyRev Bootcamp to keep the youth theatre community keep trained up and ready to ROCK! So needles to say we are BUSY!!! "

Any binge tv shows you’ve watched?

"Yes! Master Chef, New Girl, Masked Singer ( guilty pleasure)"

Any new hobbies you’ve taken on?

"Coloring! Painting Rocks! Cooking all new things!"

How has this experience changed you?

"I’m a family person, we both are and so this has been a great eye opener to the importance and love of our family! And also seeing the theatre and arts community not give up and crumble but THRIVE , has been so magical to see!! "

What is the one thing you’re most looking forward to when the stay at home order is lifted?

"Grabbing a coffee with family and friends , and seeing HUMAN FACES!"
